About Me

My family is what drives me to be successful in all my business ventures.

About Eric

I have traversed through a bit of a different path to get where I am today and thought you might find my story interesting.

Family

They are the reason I get out of bed each morning and I truly love the life we have created as a family of five. I am married to the most beautiful gal in the metro, Jenny Quiner since 2008. Together we have three rowdy, caring, ornery, intelligent, and crazy boys: Oliver, Walter, and Lewis.

PS - It is a total coincidence that their initials spell O.W.L., but it is helpful to tell people that little trick so they can remember who is who!

My family is what drives me to be successful in all my business ventures.

Community

My customers tell me all the time, “Eric you could be a poster child for Des Moines!

I was born and raised here, and I love this city and what it has going on! The private and public sectors work hand in hand here. The result: We continue to produce an award-winning city every year. I love real estate, construction, music, design, and development. Des Moines offers opportunities at every corner.

Habitat for Humanity - I have had the privilege to help organize, and participate, in over a thousand work hours with my customers and fellow Realtors since 2012. Habitat is perennially a top producer of single-family homes in Des Moines proper. The programs they offer help many families earn the path to homeownership. I love the idea of helping to “literally“ help build a better future with and for my city.

Want to join me this year? Ask me how!

Beaverdale Bluegrass Festival - I joined the board in the fall of 2022. I was the director of Camp Euforia from its inception in 2004 until its retirement in 2022. I still have the desire to keep those talents and lifelong friendships intact and this event is a perfect fit!

Dogpatch Food Pantry & Library - When we first opened our doors in 2014 we added a little library to the farm. Since the expansion of the Dogpatch Garden Center (2023) Jenny and I expanded an existing food pantry that was initially installed by Meredith Drive Reformed Church.

We built a new structure that houses the food pantry and it serves over 40 givers and takers on a daily basis. We are in partnership with local churches and organizations that help to keep the pantry stocked each day of the week.

It’s been a blessing to see this project take flight.

Downtown Farmers Market - Looking to find me on a Saturday morning in the summer? It is common for you to find me, or a family member, on Court Avenue selling farm-fresh bounty from Dogpatch Urban Gardens.

River City Opry - I try and keep my keyboard chops up by playing in one of Des Moines’ finest country western bands in town. Keep your eyes out for some of our gigs!
